Bob---Intake manifolds don't generally warp. Yours can be checked by
placing it on a surface plate, or a sheet of window glass or mirror
works well for such large items. Try slipping the thinnest feeler guage
under all corners and flanges. If a .005 won't fit, it's probably flat
enough to be drawn tight and flat by the studs and nuts.

Molykote the sliding splines on your prop shaft while it's out. 

Some owners paint the intake manifold with the same paint as the valve
cover. The 'silver' choice seems to be wide. I personally am not too
fussy about original engine bay colors, but like to see some
co-ordination here.
