i just looked at my oil filter box lid i keep in my glove box and
The Puralator filter i use is L20195
bought at a local pep boys. (save the box lid w/ the number of the filter
for future reference)
This is a larger filter, i chose this because of
the fact that a larger filter means more filtration.
could be a waste, but i figure it couldn't hurt.
mounting: when i first put this on i loosened the adaptor slightly
and screwed on the filter. i wanted to be able to clear the clutch slave and
fuel lines, but have the filter so it faced upward.
once filter clearance was adjusted I screwed down the adaptor bolt tight.
now with the angle set i never need to adjust the adaptor
and I am assured that the filter clears everything.
next oil change: just unscrew the filter!
the reason i wanted the
filter to face upward was so when i change my oil
i could pour oil in the filter, let it soak in and have a the filter
almost full to reduce the time of oil flow through the filter to the engine.
this adds up over time and gets oil to the engine much faster.
i have had no problems with the filter interferring w/ the clutch
slave or fuel lines.
