Hello All,

I did a dumb thing recently that I thought I would share and possibly
spare someone else from duplicating.

In the course or reinstalling the engine, I installed the exhaust
manifold to front pipe gasket 90 degrees out. The center hole to center
hole dimensions of the studs on the dual pipe flange are the same all
around. I was probably distracted by someone needing the belt for the
vacuum head fixed or perhaps it was the poor lighting or maybe my
deteriorating eyesight.... there has to be a valid excuse for me
somewhere out there. It ran pretty well too. Only reason I took it
apart was because I had a leak there and thought that I might not have
cleaned the surfaces of some caked up rust/carbon. The leak was throwing
out some serious heat to the starter and carbs (I wonder why???). It
sounded good but didn't really sound like a TR6...more like a hopped up
Pinto. It has the deep throaty sound now. Glad I found it before I
burned a valve.

Anyone have any stories about dumb things they have done.......come on
Kevin I know you have one.
