This may be more than you need, but I have attached a picture of the plates on 
my
'76 TR6.

As others have said the unpainted plate with the T is on top.

If you need any other views, let me know.

I am going to CC the e-mail to 6pack.  I am new here and I have seen a few 
questions
on paint.  Mine is original.  It may answer some questions regarding restoration
projects.  I am just beginning to clean it up.  It needs very little work due 
to the
low mileage.

I am sure the pic will not CC.
