There is a third option. A company in England (Polybush, www.polybush.co.uk)
that makes 4 different formulas (?) of polyurethane bushings. Racing,
Performance, Dynamic, and Touring. The Touring spec (blue in color)bushings
are, according to the company, very similar to the original rubber bushings.
The real advantage to urethane is that they are far more durable than rubber.
After buying a complete rear diff mount urethane set (black) from BPNW I was
a little concerned about how hard they were. They are hard! Way too hard in
my estimation. I ordered a set of the Polybush blue bushings for the diff and
they are indeed softer. Even more so than the red urethane bushes I ordered
from MOSS for my rear trailing arms. The MOSS supplied red bushes are made in
the US by Energy Suspension (I think that is the name) and sold as
"Prothane". Another advantage to the trailings arm urethane bushings is that
they come in two pieces. No more pushing a 1" bushing into a 3/4" hole!
