Subject: Those "thing" stickin out the back end.
So the temp is a beautiful 64 degrees or so...perfect day to drive the BRG
Survivor to work. In Christmas shopping traffic, the TR decides it's time
for a new fuel pump...in the middle of a busy intersection. It was just
like 25 years ago...pushing my LBC out of the traffic. What a blast from the
past. Once I figured that the pump was the culprit, my first call was to
AAA for a free ride back to the TR-IFIC garage. Next was to my wife at
home.
Now, my wife really loves the TR experience. When it comes to appreciating
the mechanical quirkiness of the LBC, well... I asked her to call TRF and
order a fuel pump for a "76 TR6" so I can get the car fixed in short order.
They asked if it was for a "car with carbs." She confidently responded, "Oh
yes, it has two of those things sticking out the back end." They told her 4
to 6 weeks!
There must be some problem at TRF. A couple days ago, I called to order a
new dash for my son's 72 TR6. "Don't know when it can be done...do you want
to backorder?" Turns out, the "dash guy" resigned. (He must have walked
out with the fuel pump guy.)
I called Vickie B's and had a fuel pump shipped out today.
