Lionel---The first number on a tire size, such as 205, is the tire
section width, in millimeters. Each mm is .040 in "English". So. A tire
listed at 205 is .80 of an inch wider than the standard 185 that came
with most of the six. Half of this extra width goes to the inside, where
some clearance problems sometimes show up. If you can look up into the
chassis, with full weight on the tires, you'll see how much extra room
is available for increased tire width.

I have run 215's on the rear, and no problems with clearance.
