driveline clunk

Dear List:

Now that I have solved the parking brake problem with your collective help
(that was sure easy--took about 5 minutes to adjust the rear brakes and the
parking brake fixed itself), I have a more important problem:

Since the car arrived a couple of weeks ago, I have noticed a significant
"clunk" from the driveline when I get on or off the gas. This is most
noticeable in first of second gear, especially when engaging the clutch. It
isn't
actually audible, but I can sure feel it. If I drive extra smoothly, I can
minimize the problem, but it takes effort.

I checked the differential locating pins carefully with a light and a
mirror, and they look intact and properly attached to the frame. There is no
visible frame corrosion and nothing looks loose. From the limited paperwork I
got
with the car, recently replaced items include the clutch, throw-out bearing,
clutch fork, bushings, crown wheel and pinion, and wheel bearings. The list
doesn't mention anything about universal joints.

Where should I start looking, and what is the best way to make a diagnosis?

Thanks as usual!
