 John,
Being involved in IM plastics I will weigh in. 
For a part such as the spoiler, a blow molded part
should be o.k.  I would have to go out and look at my
6 but considering the fixation of the part on the
front lower valance, it should hold pretty firm and a
hollow part does make the part a beam to stiffen it
but it is dependent on the material. If the old IM
part is a glass filled part then it would be plenty
stiff. I don't think that enough drag is put on the
spoiler to deform it much and if it does it would move
down to increase the down force if this is what it
actually does. I don't think these cars were designed
with a lot of aerodynamics though I may be wrong.
