the doors touch the top edge of the windshield on both sides (so there's

Steve, Thanks for the question. Until now I didn't know I was
missing this piece of trim.
This brings up something I've wondered about. On my Series 5 there
are stainless rain gutters attached to the edge of the windshield in the
very place Steve describes this rubber seal. They screw into the edge of
the windshield frame. Has the PO done an aftermarket add on? They
whistle at high speed and I would be happy to toss them in favor of a
flexible seal.
