I have no problem with a steep learning/unlearning curve. I'm new enough
to autocross that if I suck because I'm learning to left foot brake it won't be
much different that sucking because I'm not very good yet. ;-) I was
unaware of the steering configuration of some CM cars preventing LFB.
I take back the comment about CM having to LFB. ;-)

An informal survey of national-level competitors shows no concensus.
Personally, I believe LFB *must* be faster, but for folks who have
already learned to use their right foot, the unlearning/learning curve
is a steep one.
CM cars have clutches and conventional H-pattern shifters; some even
have the steering column between the feet, so it's impossible to left
foot brake. (Not all are that way, but some.) FM cars have no pedal-
operated clutch, so they are typically set up for LFB only. AM cars
are whatever the builder chose.
