If the shocks are three years old it is time to replace or revalve.
One important thing to remember when installing the shocks it to install
the little white spacer with the slit in it on the shocks.  If you don't the
upper seal in shock gets wasted.  The slit in the spacer allows air to vent
past the bump stop when it hit's the shock body and not blow past the 
seal.
