That is correct

Nope. It's more like ALL of Prepared will be AP legal. but any car built
to the Prepared rules will be allowed to run unlimited fuel injection and 10
or 12" wheels. They were just making examples of a couple of BP cars.
Another example would be my Z, I could add the latest
Haltech/Motec/Electromotive FI system and switch to 12" wheels, and since I
would displace less than 5.1 liters, I would only have to weigh 2050#.
That's 50# less than I have to weigh now.
I believe the real intent is to provide a linear path from Street
Prepared into the Prepared ranks. With the only constraint being
restrictions on wheel size, but they are rather liberal and I doubt they
will affect anyone.
It looks like a great new class to me, it's kind of a Heavy EM with but
with more rules. (Okay so that's kind of a contradiction, but the vehicle
mix will be comparable) It also looks like the Lotii are getting screwed out
of a class. Once the New AP cars are built and running en masse, the old AP
cars will probably be looking for a new home. I'm sure John Kelly will have
a thing or two to say about all of this.
One other observation... this new class would be the proper place for
ALL GT1 cars, or maybe ANY car prepared to the GT rules. The allowances are
comparable, unlike the situation we had this year in AP.
