Interesting, this is the second post I've seen stating the 712's are noisy.  I 
have them on my Boxster (205/50-17, 255/40-17) and to
date, they have been quieter wet or dry than the Pilot MMX's that came with the 
car.  Maybe the noise comes with wear.  I've only
got about 1,000 miles on mine.
