Just a couple of ideas...
Any reason(s) why they have the dates as they do? I'm not familiar with all
the decisions that lead toward the dates of the Solo2 Nats, but I do know the
weather around here. Move Nats back just a couple of weeks (but not too far or
you hit the rains that always come in early/mid august) and we're much less
likely to have swamp buggy races. Like maybe the week before labor day. Then
everybody would have a 3 day weekend to recover. ;-) Temps will probably be 7
or 8 degrees higher, but I'll take the heat over rain any day.
Not only that, it may not interfere as much with people (or teachers or kids)
starting school, although I know a lot of schools start in mid august these
days.
