Fried Alternator...

....bad switch, questionable ballast, stuff floating in the tank, point
gap bad, coil dying, battery dead, filters clogged, carbs stopped up, wire
pulling apart inside its insulation...

Where WILL it all end? Is it the british half or the 'murican half that's
at fault? Is it (a little suspenseful organ music here) the dreaded "one
horse shay syndrome?" Tune in Monday.

Roland, if half the things we think *might* be wrong *are* wrong, your
snake has some distant kinship to a low mileage Chevy Blazer a little old
lady once sold me.

I always get silly...OK sillier...late on a Friday.

Ray Gibbons, in Vermont, where has snowed 22 inches in the last 10 days,
is snowing now, and where a wind chill of -30F is predicted for tomorrow.
Jeezum Crow! (that's the state bird).
