This isn't really about LBCs, but LBBs are pretty close and I thought
it might be of general interest.

An article in the Detroit Free Press reports that Triumph and Norton
motorcycles will be returning to the American market in the near
future.

Triumphs will go on sale late this year or early in '95, probably in
the $8-14K range. Two models likely to be offered are
  - The entry level Trident 750 with a liquid cooled three cylinder
engine and 6 speed transmission and
  - The Daytona 1200, a high performance bike powered by a liquid
    cooled four cylinder engine.

The following is a direct quote from the article:

From the end of World War II to the mid-1960s, Triumph was the No. 1
exporter of motorcycles to the United States. Triumph's chrome-laden
Daytona, Tiger, Trident and Bonnevill were fast, powerful and stylish.
But later models developed lousy reputations for durability. Oil leaks
                                                             ^^^^^^^^^
were a recurring problem, and the bikes needed constant maintenance.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
[end quote - Is this familiar, or what? :-)]

The Triumph name was bought by industrialist John Bloor in 1984. He
hired a bunch of designers and fitted out a new factory in Hinckley
to build a new line of bikes.. They began rolling out in '92 and
Triumph plans to double production to 9000 cycles this year.
