I think the speaker was located on the back side of the glove box door.
The door had holes drilled in it to allow some sound to get out.
There was also a factory supplied, aftermarket kit for installing a
speaker between the seats (on the drive shaft tunnel). I have seen a
few of these at autojumbles so you might keep your eyes open if you're
interested. These kits only fit the TR4 as the emergency brake lever on
the TR4A occupies that space.
