About 2 weeks ago I put my "WINTER" hat on my 72B. I did this as
this car was the latest addition to the 'stable' and came without
any roof or tonneau, the forecast was for rain and it did!.
Some of the rain made it inside and it didn't matter which way I
angled my leggs, I got pretty wet while driving the freeway.
The sun has been shineing since so it's not been a problem, but I
know I am going to have to go through this again next rainfall, so
I am going to plan for the next time by doing a little maintenance.
Now comes the point of this note... Are there any SOLers out there
that have SNUG TOPS that have replaced the seals? This is a fiber
glass top and the seals seem to be 'pop riveted' in place.
The door window seals look like castle battlements, they are in such
bad shape. This top has seen much better days and was included
with a previous purchase and now proves it's worth after being
stored in the open for 4 years before I got it, 2 years ago.
Does anyone know if the manufacturer is still around and if they
supply seals? If not, anyone know if there is a second source for
such seals. Will the regular soft top header seal fit and seal the
windshield? Someone been there, someone done this before?
Snug top used to be in LONG BEACH CA. Anyone have an address or
phone number? Any information would be most helpful.
Thankx in advance.
