If at all possible, use a modern electronic flasher. When the old
Lucas bimetallic flasher went wacky in my Jensen last year, I used a
new electronic flasher from the generic auto parts store and it worked
great. This may not be an option for you since I'm guessing your MGA
is positive ground. But it's worth considering. If you are able to
use a modern electronic flasher, it will likely be the last time you
ever have to replace it.
