OK, I'm still here...and I'll chime in quickly on this topic.
It was all my dad's fault. He traded his 1950 Dodge Wayfarer convertible on
a brand-new Triumph 10 sedan in late fall 1958. (I was 5 at the time.) That
was traded in January 1964 on a brand-new Herald 1200 convertible, which is
still in the family, as is the Triumph "bug"! It's been a series of Heralds to
this day, interspersed with Spitfires, GT6s, TR3As, Mayflowers and other
related oddities!
