Jim,

The MOST COMMON size you'll come acrosss on the later "METRIC"
vehicles are:

6mm x 1.00mm thread
8mm x 1.25mm thread.

I'll write up a long winded FAQ about taps & thread chasers when
I have more time (busy week).

There is alot of SAE FINE THREAD also used all over the roadster.
Items that remained the same since the early vehicles (i.e. Brakes)
remained SAE. When items were redesigned (Engine, 5 speed tranny,
door latch, etc) they converted over to METRIC threads.

On the small screws, usually will see a dimple in them marking
them as ISO metric threads. For 'fun' Datsun used some really
odd metric threading on the 67.5 model year cars (i.e. the
SU float bowl on a 67.5, alternator screws, etc). Starting in
'68 they switched to the more "common" metric threading.

Cheers,

Tom
