Over here when the common people (high screen owners) aren't around we refer to
the low screen cars as the "Classic models" and to the high screen cars as the
"Plastic models".
A few other points about Jim's message
1/ Those "fairly pretty fender curves" have wheel arch flares that look like a
pair of elephant ears.
2/ A "Padded roll bar" or any roll bar, doesn't look great on anything. A roll
bar looks like what it is, a bunch of pipes welded together. If you are that
interested in safety, and black plastic dashes, you might find something more
your style on this site - www.volvo.com
3/ Roadsters look "goofy" if you take the side strips off.
4/ "It sceams 'Catch me if you can...' ". No, it screams "Ralph Nader and
Carroll Shelby attacked my car".
One car magazine over here summed up the looks of the high screen car
perfectly, " A sports car for giraffes".
"A LOW SCREEN OR NO SCREEN"
