All,
I had a similar problem with a roadster back when I was in school. My
problem turned out to be a dashpot piston that was not centered in the dome.
Under certain conditions, it would "lock down" and I would experience the
symptoms that Matt is describing. If the carbs have ever been disassembled,
this could be a possible culprit.
