Victor speaks the truth! The only way to be sure a lube job was done is to
do it yourself. It's not difficult, just very messy. I've caught mechanics
skipping on this chore by doing my own inspection when picking up the car.
They show you a checklist, with all these items supposedly done. Pretty hard
to convince me when I see the zerk fittings covered with dirt (the dirt gets
knocked off when the grease gun is applied), or worse yet plus with dirt on
them. Never believe the service man, check it yourself. Or, better yet do it
yourself.

When you do it, cover the ground with something to catch the gobs of grease.
Makes cleanup easier. Hate to preach a common sense item, but be sure the
car is supported real good with jackstands and not just the carjack when you
crawl underneath.
