Yep, the carpet will slide over that pedal stop if not
firmly attached to the floorboard. Speaking of the
pedal stop, make sure it is adjusted correctly. My
gas pedal has so much slop in it (where it connects to
the cross linkage) that I removed the stop entirely in
order to get full throttle.
