I know that this sort of thing is kinda far down my list - I should REALLY get 
my Roadster
running first - but I have considered removing my soft top (which has a tear 
through the
rear window and is a pain to latch anyway) and using a tonneau (note correct 
spelling... )
cover over the interior in summer (no need for a top in California in the 
summer - just
wear a hat on the hotter days!) and put on a hardtop in the winter - for a 
couple of days,
at least, you know - when it rains or something - a knit hat (that's toque to 
our Canadian
friends) is good for most winter driving here!
