Gee, do I sound stupid!
No, I suggesting an alternate cause for the symptoms you described as
"running a short time then drying" . I have also had this happen. Then, like
you, I was convinced it was due to a fuel problem. but it turned out (for
me) to be a bad coil.

Oh well.
