I have been very busy of late but on Saturday, I went to Dennis Tobin's shop,
LaFox Imports, in S. Elgin, Il for his spring get together for vintage sports
cars. It is primarily geared toward English cars but Dennis has a soft spot
for Roadsters and we were all invited.
Deena and Joe brought their newly restored 69 1600. I have seen a lot of
roadsters over the years but I have never seen a better example of one than
theirs. It only has 13K miles on it and everything that needed replacing, was.
The paint was done in Q45 silver and theirs looks better than my Q45 does.
The interior is all new except the perfect original dash. This car has to
look as good as the Les restoration on the famous silver 67.5 from the poster.
Deena and Joe spent every non working hour over the past 8 months restoring
this car and no pro could have done better. Congratulations.
Dennis, thanks for the invitation. It was a fun day even though is was still
a little chilly driving with the top down, as I always do. Wish I had had one
of those roadster cookies. My wife has a new project. Ya, right !!
