thx for all the great info and help. this is what i have. i think the
battery is going but not sure. i jumped the car this morning and it started
up with no problems. when i shut it down it would not start on its own. the
battery was reading around 7 and 8 volts running and around 9.5 with the
engine off. so i wanted to find out how to test an alternator before i
replace the battery. i have the 311s.org self regulating alternator in the
car. i measured the battery from the battery posts themselves for my
measurements.
all suggestions appreciated,
