hi all,

thx for the help. this is what i have so far. i disconnected the plug that
goes to the wiper motor itself. i place one lead on the ground wire (black
from the harness) and the other to the power wire coming from the harness
into the plug itself. i get around 12.38 volts. when i hooked up the switch
and checked the voltage i got nothing. I did get smoke from the fuse block.
the fuse for the wiper got real hot and burned on end. i unplugged
everything and installed a new fuse. i tested for the voltage again as
described at the start of this e-mail and it is showing good voltage. i do
not think i harmed the wiring. it was mentioned that i should try and bypass
the switch to check the motor. im not sure how to do this. can someone
explain it to me?

thx again!

mike
