temp sender removal

I want to remove the temp sender on my 67 1600 to see if the nut is same
thread size as an aftermarket gauge I am looking at. it appears that I can put
a socket it on it and turn it out. since it seems so easy I am going to assume
that it is not. anyone have a tip or suggestion?

thx for the assistance with the vent windows! they came out. I did miss a
bolt. I thought it was for the window regulator.
