I am fairly sure the roadster buying
FAQ's Thomas Walter mentions this (I
wish I had know about these before I
bought), but you need to make sure you
don't have any rust issues if you don't
want to be working on your car.

If you want to see what light surface
rust behind the front wheel openings can
turn into as you dig deeper, take a look
at page 7 on my web site. This is
really not all that bad from what I
found on my parts car, but it sure
looked like light surface rust when I
bought the car. I thought there were
some before pictures elsewhere, but I
see I need to add them so you can see
what light rust looks like before you
get as far as what you see on page 7.
Pages for this repair will grow as I get
more work done. All I need is for
people to leave me alone so I can work
on the car. When I can work on the car
it really makes me feel good.

To expand a bit on my earlier posting,
I'm in Dallas Texas but would
fly-out to drive back the right car.
I'm looking for a clean restored
2000 and would not be at all opposed to
a slight resto-mod (at least
with regard to the mechanicals. I would
like the car to look original).
Beyond that, the perfect car would have
Panasport or Minilite wheels and
probably the SU carbs with the B cam (I
want a car that runs pretty
smooth has some low-end torque to it,
but still has lots of power.

Also, I would appreciate hearing about
anyone's experience/advice with
these cars with regard to what you
learned (but wish you had known
earlier) only after you bought your car
