Around 1968.

My father bought a '67 Sunbeam Alpine for my sister. I remember being
very aware of sport cars at the time.Bought it in 1968 (clue should have
been the seller wanting a car only a year old to go away).

First roadster I wanted to buy was in 1974. Took my Dad to look at it,
as he would have cosigned the note. He was adamant about "no more
sports cars" - The Alpine was less than reliable

Ended up buying a  '71 Datsun 510, instead of the 2000.
