Correct.  There are a few guys on

that have done the Volvo 16V twin cam head swap onto a Ford 2.3L block.  The 
bore spacing is less than 1 mm different from what I'm told.
Pretty insane, but there are some very talented people on there who are 
committed to make it work.
Use the "search" function to find references to the Volvo swap.
