mandatory content... bought one of those alleged "straight and rust free" bondo
bucket 1600 roadsters last week for parts...
off topic, some of you may play with cars other than Datsun roadsters...
I just picked up an easily restored 71 TR6, the guy I got it from was driving
it 3 years ago and decided to restore it, removed the fenders and quarters,
dash and wiring out....nice Michelin Red Lines, brakes done, clutch done, top
end rebuilt, carbs rebuilt, new starter, some special finned valve cover,
header and brand new Monza 4 tip exhaust...has a NOS LR quarter with it, seats
have been redone, other fenders in primer, new door panels, new dash... engine
compartment is rust free, nice paint except where the battery tray was, that's
been cut out and new metal welded in. originally an O/D car but owner before
the guy I got it from had trans problems and took it to a shop and they charged
for repair but slapped a used non O/D trans in it. crooks... I'd let it go for
$2750 right now before I get into it, contact me off list if interested. I can
send pix, I do have the title for it. under 100k original miles.
