Hi Craig, I believe you'll find the temp sensor wire on the 1600 and  
2000 are located in different locations in the harness, the 1600 comes 
out of the engine harness near the carbs and the 2000 it comes out of 
the fire wall on the passenger side..there maybe more issues but that is 
one that I have came across doing the same ting your planning to do... Bill
