I find the above list curious in that listed are the "old" C/R gearset with
2.93 first gear (ala Vitesse 1600) and the newer GT6/Vitesse 2L gearset (2.65
first), as well as the old "stock" Spitfire/Herald 1200 gearset (3.75 first),
but no mention of the "stock" Spitfire MkIV gearset with its 3.51
(synchro-)first gear. Wonder why, as it was introduced with the 1971 model
MkIV?

Just out of curiosity, was this a "competition-only" gearset; if not, where
did this gearset come from? I've never seen any such ratios listed for any
normal production Triumphs.
