This discussion could easily go on for quite some time. It will be tough to
please everyone, but that shouldn't stop us from continued planning. To me,
having a road race, autocross and show featuring Triumphs sounds a lot like
your typical VTR convention with some racing thrown in.

Trouble is, we rarely have VTR conventions near racetracks. Last year in
Portland could have been a great opportunity, had we started planning a few
years ago. And it is likely to late to arrange for a road race at one of
the Colorado tracks in the same time frame as the VTR meet in Breckenridge.
For 2002, as far as I know there is no VTR convention planned. But there
is the Mid Ohio event. As we've mentioned before, it could be a chance for
folks in the area to have a VTR regional riding on those coattails.

As usual, when all is said and done, more is said than done. Here's what
I'll do. For 2001, next time I'm wearing my Intermouintain Vintage Racing
hat I'll schedule one of our Wendover events for the weekend before the VTR
meet at Breckenridge. This will be racing along a 1 mile course laid out
using cones on a rough, tire eating concrete surface. Don't throw away those
rock hard slicks just yet. Not the best venue in the world, but it could be
fun for those from the western regions to stop by and participate or just
watch on their way to Colorado.

Now, 2002 could be a bit trickier, but I'll plan on doing the same thing.
The big MG/TR challange could be the same weekend as our local British club's
annual Field Day. Maybe not. The new race track in Tooele could be up and
running by then. We'll see. One possibility would be something like the
weekend before the Mid Ohio event the British Motor Club of Utah holds the
annual Field Day at the new race track, in conjunction with an IVR race
weekend. Again, a chance for western area FOT folks to stop by and enjoy
before continuing on to Mid Ohio.

So 2001 at Wendover should be no problem, 2002 may need more thought.
Wonder if anyone is stepping up for the 2003 VTR meet?
