Pete,

My TR4 was purchased by Gary Spickler of Hagerstown, Maryland and raced PHA
events 1971-1973. He raced the car to a 4th place in the season D Production
Championship in 1973. He prepared the car and raced SCCA road races in the
NE Ohio and Wash DC regions 1974-1977, winning the D Production NE Ohio
Region championship in 1974.

The car was sold to Robert Hurd in 1978. He raced Wash DC Region MARRS
events and then moved to the West Coast in 1978. Mr. Hurd had previously
raced a TR4A on the East and West coasts.

The car has a full roll cage, a PHA rollbar stamp, PHA 039, SCCA stamp
42-420. The commission number is CT 3898 L and was red with red interior
from the factory. The car was shipped to Baltimore, Maryland from the
factory.

The car was dark metallic blue with white stripes down the middle and on the
fenders when SCCA raced by Mr. Spickler. It ran car # 983 in the Oct 1971
Weatherly Hillclimb. Car # 35 in SCCA. The car was raced as # 51 when
purchased by Mr. Hurd. He repainted it red. The car raced mostly at Summit
Point and Nelson Ledges tracks.

You can see a picture of the car prior to it's first SCCA race in 1974 on
the FOT website:

The car was purchased by Buck Schmidli of Pasco WA and raced a couple of
ICSCC events at Seattle and Portland International Raceways before being
retired and eventually purchased by me as a derelict in 1990.

Hope this might help. I haven't heard and references to 'Rambo' in
discussion on this car. I know nothing of the car's history from it's
delivery in Baltimore in January 1962 until the Oct 1971 hillclimb.

Keep in touch if I can help. If this is not your car and you have any other
details on it - I am in contact with a couple of people with PHA history
information. I can forward your information or get you in direct contact
with them.
