Graham Robson wrote a column about this in Triumph World - in a fairly recent
issue - giving details, about how the fenders were done and also confirming
that the base was a TR3 chassis with TR3 track.

Here's another project - a replica "Black Beta". The almost-produced TR3 with
the wide chassis, big beefy grille, etc., that was discarded in favor of the
TR4. Very impressive-looking car and it's easier to widen the bodywork than
lengthen it! Ask Hardy Prentice - that's what his race car looks like.

Rich....Go for it.
I have given a lot of thought about doing the same thing. I have even
made drawings and calculated where to best cut the frame and add the 6
inches. It needs to be between the firewall and front suspension. I was
going to install a TR6 engine in place of the Sabrina Engine. As it goes
now it doesn't look like I will get to do that project. Too many other
one's in the works and not enough time/$. I am afraid that the vintage
racing bug has put a lot of projects on hold. Let me know if you want to
discuss any details as I have only thought about this project for about
30 years.

Amici,

Looking at some pics of these Lemans cars has me thinking it might be
kind of
neat to build a replica. That stretched look and the curved wind/side
screens "speaks to me".

Has anyone ever done it or seen one?
