I'm not sure synched threads ARE necessary or desireable.  You want to put
some compression on the parts. Can't do that threading through. I'd guess
that's not what Tony had in mind. The work has to be fairly precise but you
can do it with a good drill press (emphasis on GOOD).

Tony, any comment on why this is superior to boring the inner holes to
snug
clearance holes and thus avoiding the synchronized threads ?
