I used kerosene on one of my cars. It is, in any case,
a slow and tedious process. Best to spray on with
some type of spray dispensor and let it sit for awhile and then
scrape/wipe off. Depending on the undercoating used
the effort may vary considerably for different undercoating
products...and, as mentioned by others, do it
in a VERRRY well ventilated area. I did my outdoors
with the body tub completely off the frame.
