I fit a 17 inch Kirky seat in my first Spitracer. I don't think anything

wider would have fit. The Spit I have now has a Butler seat which is the
same as a Kirky. Both make you feel like you are wearing the car.

I tried fitting a Kirkey seat in my Spit and gave up, even after
notching
the floorpan. They are just too wide at the bottom, or maybe I am.
Ended
up fitting the original fiberglass seat that came with the car. I hear
the
mold is still floating around the Portland, OR area, but I'm not sure
who's
got it. If you're interested, let me know and I'll do some checking
around.

I am getting ready to replace the seats in my Spit, in light of the
seats being a partial cause in the recent death at Buttonwillow. What
seats
are good, I have seen pics of some of the ones used and
was wondering if the Kirkey and other aluminum seats are ok. Have not
noticed a SCCA or FIA seal on any of them. thanks dick ross
