 Shouldn't have to use a tube in radial tires at all, street or race.? Save the 
weight and eliminate the tubes all around, radials are heavy enough.? As far as 
failure, if no visible puncture through the tire into the tube I could only 
guess.

I thought tubes are for wire wheel cars only.
