Dennis,
The key to welding diffs is to preheat the whole assembly prior to welding.
This prevents cracking during welding.?I usually preheat to 700 F. Some may not
think this is necessary, but I've done it both ways and it does make a
difference.
Since I have a furnace and welding machine, you could just send it to me, but
that's up to you. I do charge a nominal fee but nothing too outrageous.
The best part about a welded diff is listening to your friends complain about
pushing the car around the pits. Since I like to aggravate my friends (as all
will attest), this has not been a major problem!
