Hello all,
I've had quite a bit of interest so here's a bit more info.
The deal available:
For Quaife there is nothing available off the shelf. Minimum run is
10 at the price of $2127 ea. and 16 weeks from order date to shipping
from the UK. They have no-cost options of TR6 or Dolomite main-shaft
and a 2.013 or 2.223 1st. The others are 1.513 2nd, 1.205 3rd and of
course 1.00 4th. Alternate ratios MIGHT be possible. Haven't
discussed it but maybe we could get a O.D. shaft as well.
Kit consists of:
4 speed dog engagement gearkit,
Straight cut, close ratio gears,
Needle roller bearings support free running gears,
QUAIFE mainshaft included.

I can get a guarantee of 16 weeks - if for some reason there is a
delay, individuals could opt-out but the order would still go thru.
75% deposit may or may not be negotiable. Includes shipping to
Michigan, shipping to your address at cost. Other countries can be
drop-shipped from the UK.
At first impression the price seemed beyond my cheapo budgeting. But
if it gives a bit of longevity over our synchro boxes, it might be
better and more cost effective in the long run - and superior. The
only production-car dog-box I've driven is a Bugeye, but what a
dreamy transmission - a guy could get used to that. Honestly it
might be worth a second a lap [anywhere] just in lightning-fast shifts.
Any opinions as the strength/reliability to be gained?
Any ideas on a alternative manufacturer that might offer a superior
product or price?
All the dog-boxes I know of in Bugeyes use Tiliton clutches - is that
really necessary?
Seems to me more to the "Vintage Spirit" than anything using a non-
OEM case and vastly superior.
Anyone want to put this out to the TVR/Morgan lists?

Greg "Lunker" Hilyer --- With broken transmissions stacked like cord-
wood. And honest... I'm easy on transmissions in anything but a TR.
