I have a Brooklands Books collection of period road
test articles on the Austin Healey. The earliest use
of the term 100-4 I found was in the August 1959 Road
& Track test of the new 3000. None of the articles
use the term MkI for the first series 3000. In fact,
a Road & Track summary article on the big Healey line
from the June 1976 issue refers to the models as
100-4, 100-6, 3000, 3000 Mk II, and 3000 Mk III.
