David -

Glad to hear of your improved health!

I'd really recommend either the Exide Orbital, Optima
or equivalent battery from the other companies. These
new batteries are about twice the cost of a standard
battery, but they absolutely don't leak (you can hold
the thing upside down if you want), they don't gas
off... so they will go a long way to keeping your boot
floor from rusting out. The other advantage is they
are very hearty, they can handle the poor charging
characteristics of the Healey Generator system... my
Orbital battery ALWAYS has enough charge to crank the
car until the cows come home. I have it both on my
BN1 as well as the BJ8. It really works and it has an
8 year warranty.

All the batteries are pretty much the same spec now,
FYI.

Regards,

Alan
