While piloting the Blue Mainie up Rte. 16 into the White Mountains of New
Hampshire this weekend, suddenly, there in front of me was a Stanley
Steamer. I had never seen one before, but it was unmistakable, with steam
venting from the undercarriage, and a trail of water leaving its mark on the
road. As I passed it, the driver gave me a thumbs up, and sounded his steam
whistle! It sounded just like a steam locomotive.

Although many Steamers showed up for the 100th anniversary of the "Climb To
The Clouds" ascent of Mount Washington, this old buggie got there by its own
power (most of the others were trailer queens).

While I was heading North on Sunday, a silver-grey Healey was heading south,
in North Conway. Anyone on this list?
